I recently had the following information sent to me that will be of use to some members of the community:

A grant is currently available via the HEART service, based in Nuneaton on 02476 376 294. 

Essentially, there’s up to £500 towards checks, serving and repairs for gas boilers, cookers, fires, pipework and meters. Owner occupiers only and people must meet one of the following criteria:

• Home owners 60 years of age or over who receives means tested benefit, or
• Home owners 60 years of age or over who receive state pension only (with no other income), or
• Home owners 18 plus who are disabled
