Following my walk around with Council officers from the Borough Council last week and County Council officers this week, here’s an update on the issues raised:

Weeds of roadside -; the Council have now employed a contractor to come in and spray and then remove all weeds from across the Borough’s road network. Coleshill is scheduled in for the next couple of weeks’ subject to the weather.

The bank and footpath that runs behind Augustus Close -; the area will be cut back and cleaned up in the next month after the last grass cut.

Roman Way Industrial Estate -; The council will be writing to the private businesses on the industrial estate who are not keeping their outside land in a good condition to ask them to cut it back and keep it tidy going forward.

A446 footpath -; the County Council have cut the grass and verges this week but will be seeking to clean up the path to make it passable in the parts where there are currently issues.

The passage way from Birmingham Road to Ravenswood -; the Borough Council will be paying closer attention to this now and have arranged for a deep clean to take place.

Brutus Drive alleyway to A446 -; will be cleaned up and cut back by the Borough Council.

White lines on Temple Way -; will be completed as part of a wider series of works in the coming weeks.

Penns Lane Road surface -; will be repaired and made safe by the County Council

Footpaths by Gorsey Lane -; County Council and Borough Council will be working together to cut the trees and pushes back to make it passable again. Grass on Gorsey will also be cut as it seems the Borough were missing parts out.

Bus Shelters -; will be cleaned via the Town Council in the coming weeks.

Wantage Road -; Litter picking team to now focus on this area more.

Kerbstones on turning into Colebridge -; will be repaired by the County Council

Cole End Park -; I have a meeting on site next week to discuss the future maintenance but in the meantime, underneath the bridges will be cleared of glass etc.

I’m still working on the ditch on the left hand side of Birmingham Road, the issue of Orchard Close, white lines on the bridge, and the walkway by Balti Cottage.

If I’ve missed anything out, let me know! If any of these works don’t happen or things get worse, again please get in touc
